OUTLINE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Rates/Minimum Hire Periods:

Rates are per day in British pounds stirling and include unlimited miles/kilometres & VAT (Value Added Tax)

The minimum hire period is five days, seven between 1st July abd 31st August 2003.

Drivers' Licences
All drivers must be a minimum of 21and not more than 70 years old and hold a full and valid British driving licence, or an international driving licence, or other driving licence valid in the UK. The driver must have held the appropriate licence for at least one year and have no more than one speeding and parking endorcement over the previous five years (eleven years for serious offences). In certain circumstances the insurers may be prepared to accept drivers outside these limits. Please apply with full details.

Depot/Pickup Points:
UK Depots: Salisbury, Wilts.

Pickup time: any day except Sunday or public holidays 4.00 pm
Return time: any day except Sunday or public holidays 12.00 noon.

Airport/StationTransfers
Pickups from Salisbury or Grateley stations can be provided free of charge. Pickups from some airports can be arranged at additional cost. Please enquire for details giving pick-up point and number of people in party.

Insurance
Comprehensive insurance is included. The hirer is liable for the first £ 250 of any damage caused in any one accident (drivers between 21 and 25 years: £350). The security deposit paid at the commencement of the hire is to cover this. Subject to any charges this security deposit will be refunded within ten days of the end of the rental period. Not covered include: tyres windscreens, roof lights.


Hirers are strongly advised to take out personal travel insurance to cover personal accident, medical charges and personal property and also loss of deposits.

Security Deposit/Bond
All hirers must pay a bond of £250 (£350 for drivers under 25) at the commencement of hire. This bond is fully refundable if the vehicle has not been involved in an accident and is returned in a suitably clean and undamaged condition. Payment can be made by credit card, travellers' cheques or in cash.

General Conditions
The Company reserve the right to make deductions over and above the bond for any of, or multiples of the following:

Missing or damaged equipment; the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition; the toilet is not emptied and chemically recharged. The fuel tank is not refilled.

Tilshead regrets it is unable to make any refunds for vehicles returned before the due date, or unused rental days.

In the event of mechanical failure or major accident rendering the vehicle unserviceable and no alternative vehicle is available, liability will be to only refund those actual lost rental days.

Hired vehicle operated outside the terms on the rental agreement have no insurance cover and the hirer is liable for the entire cost of damage.

Reservation Deposit
A deposit of 30% of the total daly hire tarrif is payable to secure a booking (min. £250 or £350 if under 25 years old). The full balance is required a minimum of 35 days before the commencement of the hire (cheques 45 days).

The security deposit, insurances and any additional equipment or services must be paid for in full prior to commencement of the hire.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation fees, prior to pick-up are as follows:

Over 35 days loss of deposit

less than 35 days: 100% of total reservation cost
For the purpose of cancellation the charge will exclude the bond, insurance or other options.
In the event of Tilshead finding an alternative hirer, a proportion of the cancellation fee, excluding the deposit, will be refunded.
